Open Source Geospatial ConsortiumRefractions' staff play a strong role in the Open Source Geospatial Consortium (OSGeo), as members of project steering committees and volunteers with various committees. Refractions has moved the GEOS topological C++ library project into the OSGeo “incubation” process to become a full-fledged OSGeo project.
University of VictoriaStudents from the University of Victoria have been working at Refractions through the Co-op Education program since 1998, and Refractions continues to be an ethusiastic supporter of the program. Refractions and the University have also collaborated in research projects with the BC Advanced Systems Institute, such as the initial development of GEOS.
Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)Refractions supports OGC standards, and the OGC standards process, by implementing standards in our products (PostGIS and uDig) and by reviewing and commenting on emerging OGC standards efforts. PostGIS is certified as OGC compliant to the “Simple Features for SQL” specification. Refractions was an OGC member in 2002/2003. |
